- A fit check on reinstall — a screen that doesn't seat correctly in its track defeats the purpose, so we make sure it's actually sealed against the frame when we're done.
Why it matters here
Fine red rock dust works its way into screen mesh in a way regular household dust doesn't, and intense UV exposure makes screen material brittle and prone to tearing faster than it would in a milder climate.
